Last Space Mission For Discovery

Today will mark the 39th and final time that the Space Shuttle Discovery will launch into orbit.  Fueling began this morning in preparation for the scheduled 4:50pm launch.  If you are working today, fear not because NASA TV will be broadcasting all day.

If you are curious as to what the astronauts activity will be over the next days, take a look at this schedule.

Here is the schedule for today:
10:15am: Docking coverage begins
11:00am: Pre-launch press conference
11:30am: Full launch coverage begins
4:50pm: Launch
5:45pm: Post-launch news conference

After Discovery, NASA has two more shuttle launches scheduled before retiring the fleet.  Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled for April 19th and Astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of recovering Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, will be onboard.  The final flight, Space Shuttle Atlantis, is scheduled for June 28th.

Always fun to watch!
